Disclaimer

As more people begin to stumble upon this blog I feel that I should warn you all of something.

Most of the trans* community does not like me.  Actually, the vast majority openly hate me.  I am NOT the best representative of your average transman.  In fact, I’m probably the WORST representation you could possibly find.  In many ways I think this is an advantage, but if what you’re looking for is an accurate portrayal of most transguys then you’re in the wrong place.

If you’re looking for a transperson who has a good working relationship with other transpeople then you should probably leave.  I do have friends who also happen to be trans, but they’re few and far between.  More often than not they’re transwomen.  When I interact with other transpeople online it is usually to argue.  In person I get along with people better, but I still prefer to avoid trans-specific events if I can help it.

If you are looking for a transperson who will always be out as trans then you should look somewhere else.  Being trans is not the most important part of my being.  Being trans is a medical affliction that I happen to have.  I am no more proud of my status as a transexual than I am proud of being mildly dyslexic.

If you are looking for a transperson who is not afraid to offend other transpeople then I guess you’ve come to the right place.  I don’t often mean to offend anyone, but that’s how it usually ends up.  I will not apologise for feeling differently from other transpeople.  I will not apologise for becoming so infuriated with certain segments of the community that I feel the need to break away completely.  I will ocassionally apologise for lashing out in a way that is not constructive.

Now you know what you’re getting into.  If you want to stick around, awesome.  If you don’t, there are a ton of other trans blogs on the internet.

  1. Hey

Just wanted to say that i’ve read your blog and youre FINALLY someone who thinks the same on this subject as I do. I’m also a non-masculine who just happens to be a transman, and this blog has really helped in explaining to those close to me what I mean when I say “I’m a man, I dont know why, I just am, just the way you know YOUR gender” when they say “how can you be male, youre not manly”.

It really does offend when people ask it, you wouldnt say it to a feminine guy, dont say it to me…im one to, as im sure you’ve felt before.

    thanks gain =)
